CIPHER

Reading the room…

How to play Cipher

  1. Each side gets four secret keywords, numbered 1 to 4, that only that side can see.
  2. Each round one player is given a three-digit code and gives three clues, one per keyword, in order.
  3. Your own side must read it. So must the other side, who are writing down every clue you have ever given — the app keeps that grid for you.

An example

Your words are 1 Igloo, 2 Yacht, 3 Ferry, 4 Dolphin and your code is 1-4-3. You say “cold, flipper, crossing”. Your team reads it easily. But now the other side knows that your 1 has something to do with cold — and they will remember that for the rest of the game.

4–12 players · about 30–45 minutes · suggested from age 12 · free, no sign-up, plays in any browser.
